Because of your generosity, my students now have access to hands-on math resources that make learning more engaging, meaningful, and accessible for every learner.\r\nMany of my students benefit most when math is concrete and interactive. With these materials, they are able to visualize concepts, practice problem-solving collaboratively, and build confidence in their mathematical thinking. I've already seen increased participation, stronger perseverance, and more excitement during math lessons.\r\nYour support goes beyond supplies, you helped my students feel capable, included, and successful. The new laminating machine has been used to create lesson materials that can be used year after year. So far, I have used it to laminate the answer cards for my board walk lessons. This allows students to self check their work as they progress through the lesson. The laminating makes finding the answer key cards easy to find as they are thicker. Furthermore, the cards don't get wrinkled as class after class handles the cards. The items in this project may seem mundane to those outside the classroom, but their continued impact and support on students cannot be exaggerated. \r\nWhen describing a classroom, it's typical to list items that are part of the classical stereotype: desks, novels and textbooks, a chalkboard (or, in 2025, an interactive screen), and backpacks. These items are all still very relevant in the classroom, but they're also missing vital components that allow students to learn at their highest potential. Due to the constraints of funding, students are often given the bare essentials for learning, but their needs as humans are neglected. \r\nThat's what my Donors Choose list sought to address. With every donated granola bar, students could stop ignoring growling stomachs and focus on their reading assignment. With the inclusion of pads and tampons in my student resource bin, our young ladies could ignore the discomfort and delay of extended restroom visits and make it back to class in time to start her essay. With our new power strip, students can plug in phones to arrange a ride home after school, just in time to participate in class discussions, instead of scrambling to borrow a peer's charger. \r\nThese items may seem small for others, but their continued impact on students comfort allows our kids to thrive both as people, and as scholars. I hope you'll take some time to read over the student thank you notes, so you can see how grateful our kids are to be included in your generosity. Again, thank you so much for your donation. It will be well- used and I'll ensure every class knows that we have what we need thanks to you.","fullyFundedDate":1733284729937,"projectUrl":"project/english-essentials-2024-2025-school-year/8648213/","projectTitle":"English Essentials 2024-2025 School Year","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kelly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9654207_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742531069690","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kellymcqueen"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49564","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1716,"numTeachers":75,"percentFrplEligible":58,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":28,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.8,"schoolId":49564,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Robert McQueen High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Robert McQueen High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/washoe-county-school-district/robert-mcqueen-high-school/49564"}
