Because of your generosity, my elementary speech-language students now have materials that make learning to communicate more accessible, comfortable, and fun.\r\n\r\nIn elementary speech therapy, students learn best when lessons are visual, hands-on, and comfortable. The printer ink and laminating pouches allow me to create colorful cue cards, picture cards, social stories, and interactive activities that students can touch, move, and reuse. These visuals help students understand sounds, build vocabulary, and create sentences and stories.\r\n\r\nThe step stool helps ensure materials and learning tools can safely and independently be access during therapy sessions. Providing safe access to materials supports independence and keeps sessions running smoothly so students can focus on communication.\r\n\r\nThe kick fidget bands help students stay calm and focused while working on speech and language goals. Many students benefit from subtle movement to stay regulated, and these bands allow them to move their feet quietly while increasing attention to practicing communication.\r\n\r\nStudents love the bright, laminated cue cards, picture cards, and story materials because they make learning more fun and engaging. They also enjoy being able to move while they learn, which makes sessions feel comfortable engaging, and motivating. Overall, these tools make speech therapy interactive and enjoyable.\r\n\r\n\r\nStudents who were previously getting out of their seats and participating less often are more engaged because the visuals give them something concrete to talk about. Students who struggle with attention annd wigggly in their seats are calmer and more focused with the kick bands, which helps them participate more fully in therapy and practice more sounds and words. Overall, these materials support a wide range of learning styles and needs.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students are practicing sounds, building sentences, and creating stories in ways that feel safe, fun, and empowering. These tools are helping them find their voices—one word, one sentence, and one story at a time.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible and for believing in my students.","fullyFundedDate":1770085868610,"projectUrl":"project/from-sounds-to-stories-tools-that-suppo/10013047/","projectTitle":"From Sounds to Stories: Tools That Support Communication and Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shelly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8675885_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746237846151","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8675885"},{"teacherId":9066052,"projectId":9865933,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of headsets for our first-grade classroom. Your kindness has made a real difference in our learning. This incredible jump shows how powerful the right tools can be, and I am truly grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nThe students are so excited to use the headsets every day. They love that the sound is clear and just for them, which helps them stay engaged and confident during reading and math lessons. Many of our donors may not realize how important technology is in the classroom, but these headsets allow each child to learn at their own pace without noise or distractions. This has helped even my most hesitant learners feel more comfortable and successful.\r\n\r\nI also want to share that a few students who usually struggle to stay on task have especially connected with this new technology. With the headsets, they are calmer, more focused, and proud of their progress. It has been heartwarming to see their confidence grow.
