Because of YOU, our shelves now have incredible and engaging NEW books that are sparking conversations and curiosity, encouraging reading, and opening new doors and windows through which our students can see themselves and others.\r\n\r\nThe excitement has been palpable this year, as students rush into the Library to see which new books are on display! Many of my students are discovering new authors they've not read before. Some of my reluctant readers, who never wished to check out a library book, have turned the corner this year, speaking up about what they are most interested in and asking if they can check \"that book\" out next. These moments of joy and discovery would not have been possible without your generosity.\r\n\r\nPlease know, your donation is not just about the books. It's about the empowerment of CHOICE! You've given our scholars access to stories that reflect their experiences, broaden their horizons, and inspire them to dream BIG! The impact of your kindness will be carried with our students for many years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for supporting my role as Librarian. What may seem like a simple addition has truly transformed our daily learning environment.\r\n\r\nOur new carpet has quickly become the heart of our classroom. Each morning, students gather together on it for morning meetings, storytime, and group discussions. It has created a welcoming, comfortable space where students feel safe to share, collaborate, and learn side by side. For many of my students, this has become their favorite spot in the room, a place where they can sit together as a community.\r\n\r\nBeyond comfort, the carpet also helps with organization and focus. Having a defined meeting area gives students a sense of structure, and it has made transitions smoother and learning time more engaging. I've noticed that students are more eager to participate when they're seated in this cozy, shared space.\r\n\r\nThis gift has gone far beyond just classroom décor—it has built connection, supported learning, and given my students a sense of belonging. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in their school experience. It's truly been a game changer for us and has brought about some exciting opportunities for both teachers and students!\r\n\r\nWith the new laminator, teachers can now create reusable and long-lasting tasks and activities for use in centers. This means that we can invest our time and resources into materials that will serve us well over the years. Additionally, laminating anchor charts and student examples ensures that these valuable resources will last for many years to come. This durability is especially beneficial for our K-2 students, who can be quite rough on materials. Having sturdy, laminated materials helps us maintain a rich learning environment without constantly worrying about wear and tear.\r\n\r\nThanks so much for your continued support and collaboration. Let's keep the momentum going and continue to create an engaging and enriching learning environment for our students!","fullyFundedDate":1740809956618,"projectUrl":"project/laminate-to-educate/9080074/","projectTitle":"Laminate to Educate","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McAvinney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2700_orig.jpg?crop=521,521,x121,y65&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661978227285","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-mcavinney"},{"teacherId":9810744,"projectId":9066561,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for contributing to \"Putting a Freeze on School Injuries.\" The students were very excited to know they would have an ice maker. \r\n\r\n On one particular day, I needed ice for several different injuries within a couple hours. The injuries included a busted lip in PE, an arm pain from recess, a toothache, a nosebleed and another wrist injury. Each of these students benefited from the ice as therapy to help the injury and provide pain relief. Instead of walking to the cafeteria multiple times, I was able to get ice quickly to help the students receive pain relief. The benefit of the availability of ice allows students to get back into the classroom and stay in the classroom to continue learning.\r\n\r\nHaving an ice machine saves money on purchasing disposable ice packs that do not stay cold very long. We have also had broken bones on the playground so having cold ice to apply to the injury has help drastically with pain and relief. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping Grove Park Students and staff!","fullyFundedDate":1740690423118,"projectUrl":"project/putting-a-freeze-on-school-injuries/9066561/","projectTitle":"Putting a Freeze on School Injuries","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rimmer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9810744"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2207","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":429,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":45,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":80.7,"schoolId":2207,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Grove Park Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Grove Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/alamance-burlington-school-system/grove-park-elementary-school/2207"}
