The new resources have already made a wonderful difference in our student services program. The backpacks are helping students stay organized and prepared, carrying their materials between home and school with ease. The Oxford Spiral Notebooks are being used for note-taking, journaling, and completing assignments, while the Paper Mate EverStrong pencils ensure that students can write without interruptions. The Pure Life water bottles are keeping everyone hydrated throughout the day, supporting their focus and energy. Recently, students used the notebooks for a creative writing exercise, where they developed stories based on prompts. They were thrilled to use the new materials, and it really helped them feel more engaged and confident in their work.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new supplies, their reactions were filled with excitement and appreciation! They loved choosing their favorite backpack colors and were excited to start using the high-quality notebooks and pencils. The water bottles were a big hit as well, allowing students to stay refreshed and ready to learn. Moving forward, students will continue to use their notebooks and pencils for their creative writing projects, brainstorming, drafting, and revising their work. Afterward, they'll participate in peer reviews, providing feedback to one another. Your support has made such a positive impact on our students, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to provide them with these resources as they continue to grow and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1733272720977,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-with-essentials/8913546/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students with Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9403484"},{"teacherId":9703499,"projectId":8908458,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our girls' empowerment group is already making a powerful impact in the lives of our students. The materials we received are used to create a welcoming, creative, and reflective environment where the girls can engage in activities promoting self-esteem, resilience, and leadership. For example, one of our first projects involved a vision board activity, where students used art supplies to express their goals and aspirations visually. Watching them open up as they crafted their boards was amazing, sharing personal dreams and supporting each other was amazing.\r\n\r\nWhen the girls first saw the materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and gratitude. They were eager to dive into the supplies, knowing that the tools would help them with this program and other aspects of their lives. One student even said, \"This is the first time I've felt like my voice really matters!\"—a moment that genuinely encapsulated the impact of this project.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're delving deeper into topics like mindfulness, leadership, and communication skills. The next step will be a team-building exercise in which the girls work together to solve challenges and reflect on how they can use their newfound confidence to support one another. Thanks to your support, we have the resources we need to keep this momentum going, ensuring that these students continue to grow, thrive, and inspire those around them.","fullyFundedDate":1730297644596,"projectUrl":"project/inspire-and-thrive/8908458/","projectTitle":"Inspire and Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Holder","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9703499"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1444","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":420,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":62,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.7,"schoolId":1444,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shepard IB Magnet Middle School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Shepard IB Magnet Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/durham-public-schools/shepard-magnet-school/1444"}
