With organized, accessible shelves, students were able to easily find, choose, and return books independently, building responsibility and confidence as readers. Instead of clutter and confusion, they had a calm, inviting space that encouraged exploration and sustained reading.\r\n\r\nThe bookshelves helped turn our classroom library into a true learning hub—one where students discovered new genres, saw themselves reflected in stories, and strengthened their literacy skills. Through your support, students experienced a welcoming environment that showed them their education mattered and that they were worthy of a space designed for growth, curiosity, and success.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of the grade 7 and 8 students of New Town Middle School, we wholeheartedly thank you for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1758801098855,"projectUrl":"project/shelves-of-knowledge-shelves-of-dreams/9682935/","projectTitle":"\"Shelves of Knowledge, Shelves of Dreams\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mae","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10021052_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x57,y8&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747246445328","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10021052"},{"teacherId":9045635,"projectId":9212624,"letterContent":"This book project has had a meaningful impact on our classroom culture. In today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, many students see reading as a requirement rather than a joy. Attention spans are shorter, and books often compete with screens for their time and interest. Because of this, building a love for reading has become more important, not to mention more challenging, than ever.\r\n\r\nBy introducing short, powerful books with meaningful themes, I have already seen a shift in student engagement. The length of the books makes reading feel manageable rather than overwhelming. Students who would normally hesitate to start a novel feel more confident picking up a book they know they can finish. That sense of accomplishment matters.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, these books spark conversation. Students connect deeply to themes about purpose, change, resilience, identity, and growth. They begin to share personal reflections, ask thoughtful questions, and see reading as something relevant to their own lives.\r\n\r\nMy hope is that these short books serve as a gateway. When students experience success and meaningful connection with reading, they begin to see it differently, not as something they have to do for a grade, but as something they choose to do because it inspires them, challenges them, or helps them understand themselves and the world around them.\r\n\r\nThe ultimate impact I am working toward is simple but powerful: students who read because they want to. Students who see books not as assignments, but as opportunities. If this project helps even a handful of students discover that reading can be meaningful and enjoyable, then it has already made a lasting difference.","fullyFundedDate":1744223815909,"projectUrl":"project/todays-readers-tomorrows-leaders/9212624/","projectTitle":"Today's Readers, Tomorrow's Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Briones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9045635"},{"teacherId":9997363,"projectId":9278678,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for making it possible for my students to experience these new books in our classroom. Because of your generosity, my students are not only practicing important skills like analyzing characters, identifying themes, and asking deeper questions, but they're also learning valuable lessons about empathy and understanding different perspectives. It's good to see the smiles of my students when they know that they have brand new copies of the book. Those smiles say so much about how meaningful this gift is to them.\r\n\r\nWhat has meant the most to me as a teacher is watching my students truly enjoy reading. Our classroom has become a lively place during reading time, filled with discussion, note-taking, and shared excitement about the stories. Thank you for helping me create a classroom where my students not only grow as readers but also discover the joy of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1750864022533,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-dreams-identity-and-society/9278678/","projectTitle":"Exploring Dreams, Identity, and Society Through Gatsby","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. C","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9997363_orig.jpg?crop=1365,1365,x0,y341&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744314218640","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9997363"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79925","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":385,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":80,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":15.4,"schoolId":79925,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Town Junior Senior High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"New Town Junior Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-dakota/new-town-school-district-1/new-town-junior-senior-high-school/79925"}
