My students got the opportunity to use their imaginations by pretending to shop with the shopping cart and the other store props. I appreciate being able to engage with the children while using the new items because it encourages the kids to learn new vocabulary words and to make real life connections with the items and the activities they are acting out. I can use the conversations I have in the dramatic play area with the children about their interests and thoughts, to lesson plan for new activities and experiences. Since this project has been funded, students have been able to complete rating forms in a confidential matter. They tell me all the time how much easier and quicker it is to answer the questions on the portable monitor compared to the old paper hardcopy forms that used to be utilized. The students even began using the other monitor as a way to research topics for papers or assignments for their classes. The students themselves have even shown me new ways to utilize the technology that I did not think of.
