Because of your generosity, you've helped create a space where learning, comfort, and connection happen every single day.\r\n\r\nEach morning, my students and I gather on the rug for stretching, counting, calendar, read-alouds, rich collaborative discussions, and story retellings. We act out characters and bring stories to life together. Students play letter-matching games, arrange materials in alphabetical order, and practice reading decodable stories. In small groups, they sit right beside me using magnets, marker boards, and crayons to practice spelling and phonics skills. We complete our daily Heggerty phonics lessons there as well, building strong foundational literacy skills in a space where students feel safe and supported.\r\n\r\nThe rug's numbers transform afternoon math into movement. Students practice counting with dancing and one-to-one correspondence using the numbers on the rug. They jump to numbers I call out, then hop to their final answers to solve addition and subtraction problems. Students identify numbers 1–20 and practice counting on from any given number. \r\n\r\nBeyond academics, this quality rug provides something just as important: comfort and security. Its softness invites students to settle in and focus, while its clear layout creates boundaries that support organization, smooth transitions, and positive behavior. Students confidently move from their assigned number spot to a chosen letter spot, fostering both independence and teamwork.\r\n\r\nTruly, this rug is essential to our classroom. It is not just a piece of carpet—it is a place where learning comes alive every single day for every child. Because of you, my students have a space that supports their growth academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for believing in my students and investing in their learning.
