Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in our daily learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe Active Calming Center has become an important part of our classroom. It provides students with hands-on tools such as yoga poses, breathing activities, movement mats, and sensory tasks that help them regulate their emotions in healthy and developmentally appropriate ways. Instead of shutting down or becoming overwhelmed, students now have concrete strategies they can use to calm their bodies and refocus their minds.\r\n\r\nThese tools have helped my students learn how to manage big emotions, especially during moments of frustration, stress, or transitions. The movement and sensory input support their ability to self-regulate, while the breathing and mindfulness activities teach lifelong coping skills that they can carry beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nSince introducing the Active Calming Center, students are able to return to learning more quickly after becoming dysregulated, and they are gaining confidence in using calming strategies independently. Most importantly, they are learning that it is okay to have big feelings — and that they have the power to calm themselves in safe, healthy ways.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom has become a more peaceful, supportive space where students feel empowered, understood, and ready to grow. Thank you for investing in our students' social-emotional development and overall success.","fullyFundedDate":1761917242712,"projectUrl":"project/building-calm-and-confidence-in-kinderga/9667077/","projectTitle":"Building Calm and Confidence in Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Treen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3992512_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1520784617281","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kaihla-treen"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_85237","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":294,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":80,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":85237,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Orchard Park Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Orchard Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/kettering-city-school-district/orchard-park-elementary-school/85237"}
