Through our new books on voting, students were introduced to important skills such as listening to others' ideas, understanding fairness, expressing opinions, and recognizing that every voice matters. These texts also supported comprehension skills like identifying main ideas, making connections, and discussing real-life examples in an age-appropriate way.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive and engaging. Students listen to stories, ask questions, share their thinking, and connect what we read to hands-on experiences. After reading about voting, we brought the lesson to life by holding a class vote to choose names for our class fish. Students learned how voting works, why rules are important, and how individual choices contribute to a group decision.\r\n\r\nSeveral students especially connected with these books because they could see themselves as part of the process. Students who are typically quiet were excited to cast their votes and see that their choices counted just as much as everyone else's. The excitement, discussions, and sense of ownership showed us how powerful these books were in building both literacy skills and confidence. Thank you for helping us create learning experiences that students will remember and carry with them.","fullyFundedDate":1762266335612,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-readers-and-future-voter/9836883/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Readers and Future Voters","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10115720_orig.jpg?crop=229,229,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754498896943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10115720"},{"teacherId":10115720,"projectId":9784100,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our Pre-K and Kindergarten students are experiencing hands-on STEM learning in a way that is meaningful, engaging, and culturally rich. The materials you provided have already made a powerful impact in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using the new resources for Osage-inspired STEM projects that blend science, math, and cultural learning. One of our favorite moments so far has been our Osage beading patterns activity. Students used colorful pony beads and pipe cleaners to create repeating patterns inspired by traditional Osage designs. As they worked, they practiced counting, recognizing patterns, and strengthening fine motor skills—all while proudly showing off their creations and explaining their designs to classmates.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They eagerly explored the beads, containers, and planting supplies, asking questions and sharing ideas about what we could build or grow. Many students were so engaged that they stayed focused longer than usual, carefully selecting bead colors or testing how their designs looked when repeated.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our next steps include building mini drums to explore sound and vibration, and planting corn to observe growth over time. Students will compare sunlight versus shade, measure plant height, and document changes as young scientists. These projects are helping them learn that STEM is something they can touch, explore, and understand.\r\n\r\nYour support gave our students more than supplies—you gave them confidence, curiosity, and joyful learning moments. Thank you for giving us a peek into what's possible when learning is hands-on and heartfelt.","fullyFundedDate":1760670529979,"projectUrl":"project/beads-beats-and-growing-seeds-stem-wit/9784100/","projectTitle":"Beads, Beats, and Growing Seeds STEM with Osage Traditions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10115720_orig.jpg?crop=229,229,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754498896943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10115720"},{"teacherId":10115720,"projectId":9587382,"letterContent":"The new height-adjustable teacher desk and chair have made a huge difference in our classroom. I can now alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day, which helps with comfort and focus during long lessons and planning periods. The flexibility allows me to work more efficiently and meet with students at their level during small-group lessons or one-on-one support time. It has created a more organized and welcoming space for both teaching and learning.\r\nThe laminator has also been an incredible addition. I've used it to protect classroom charts, student artwork, and reusable center materials. The students love seeing their work laminated and \"shiny,\" and it helps them take pride in what they've created. Having the laminator in the classroom saves time and keeps materials lasting much longer. These new tools have helped make our classroom more efficient, cheerful, and ready for learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1758636486388,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-safe-cohesive-classroom/9587382/","projectTitle":"Building a Safe Cohesive Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10115720_orig.jpg?crop=229,229,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754498896943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10115720"},{"teacherId":10115720,"projectId":9545776,"letterContent":"When my students first walked into our classroom and saw the lanterns glowing, the plants in the corners, and the cozy beanbag in our reading nook, their faces lit up. \r\nThe cushions for circle time have already made a big difference. My Pre-K and Kindergarten learners can sit comfortably and stay focused during group lessons, which helps them participate more confidently. The beanbag chair has quickly become the favorite spot in our library corner. I often see children curled up with picture books, turning pages with excitement, and even sharing stories with their friends. It has sparked a love for reading in some of my most hesitant learners.\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was during a \"Read to a Friend\" activity. Two students settled onto the beanbag together, took turns holding the book, and practiced retelling the story to one another. The comfort of the space encouraged them to stay engaged far longer than usual, and I could see their pride as they worked together.\r\nThe soft-colored bulletin boards have created a calm but cheerful environment where student work really shines. Instead of being overwhelmed by busy visuals, my students can focus on their projects and proudly see their learning displayed.\r\nThanks to your support, my classroom has become a place where young learners feel safe, excited, and ready to explore. Our next steps include diving into a unit on storytelling, where students will not only listen to stories but also begin creating and illustrating their own. The cozy and welcoming spaces you helped make possible will continue to be the heart of our classroom as my students grow academically, socially, and emotionally this year.","fullyFundedDate":1754928525269,"projectUrl":"project/a-peaceful-place-to-learn-and-grow/9545776/","projectTitle":"A Peaceful Place to Learn and Grow","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10115720_orig.jpg?crop=229,229,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754498896943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10115720"},{"teacherId":9734356,"projectId":8746222,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation to our STEM class!
