Having access to a color printer has made a big difference in my classroom.\r\n\r\nThe printer has helped students better understand and share what they're learning. They can create clear diagrams, photos, and posters that make lessons easier to follow. Students are more engaged in their work, and they take it more seriously because their projects look polished and professional.\r\n\r\nWhat excites them most is seeing their work in color. Their posters catch attention in the hallways, so other students stop to read them, which means learning is shared beyond our classroom. The LEGO robotics kits have enhanced my classroom in ways I didn't fully expect. They quickly became a favorite option for fast finishers, giving students a meaningful way to extend their learning. As they followed the build instructions, troubleshot issues, and worked through challenges, they practiced real problem-solving and teamwork skills.\r\n\r\nA few students enjoyed the kits so much that they signed up for the class again just to keep working with them. Others became so enthusiastic about robotics that they sought out an afterschool robotics club to be able to build robots that would compete against other school clubs. The kits opened doors for students to pursue their own interests and discover new passions.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts has been seeing students' eyes light up when they realize that finishing early means they get a chance to work with the robotics kits. What usually starts with one student often turns into a small group of three or four, each naturally taking on a role such as team leader, builder, designer, or coder. It has been wonderful to watch them collaborate, problem solve, and grow more confident with each project.\r\n\r\nAs we head into our second trimester, I'm excited to see how much more skilled and confident students will become with the LEGO robotics kits. Your donations made it possible for me to include weekly cooking and preservation lessons in my environmental service-learning classes. These lessons have become one of the most popular parts of the course, and we've even seen more students signing up for the elective because of them.\r\n\r\nIt has been wonderful to watch students connect the work they do in our food forest with the food they cook afterward. They've learned a range of basic kitchen skills they didn't have before, such as making tea, sautéing greens, using cutting techniques like chiffonade, peeling root vegetables, and dehydrating herbs and greens. Some of the class favorites so far have been sautéed garlic and tree collards, parsley and ginger tea, and boiled sunchokes.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped students develop a deeper understanding of edible plants while also becoming more confident in the kitchen. Many have gone home eager to show their families what they learned.
