The sensory tools and snacks you provided have become an essential part of helping students regulate their bodies and stay ready to learn. For many of my students, especially those with sensory and behavioral needs, having access to items like fidgets, calming tools, and consistent snacks allows them to maintain focus for longer periods, reduce frustration, and successfully engage in academic tasks. These supports may seem simple, but they are powerful in creating a learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and capable.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is seeing how quickly students have learned to independently use these tools. They are beginning to recognize when they need a break, a snack, or a sensory support—and they are using those strategies appropriately. This level of self-awareness and independence is a huge step forward. The snacks, in particular, have helped students sustain energy throughout the day, especially during long instructional blocks, which has led to improved participation and fewer behavioral disruptions.\r\n\r\nThere are several students who have especially benefited from these resources. Some who previously struggled to stay in the classroom are now able to remain engaged for longer stretches of time, using sensory tools to regulate instead of leaving the space. Others who had difficulty interacting positively with peers are showing growth because they feel more comfortable and supported. Your donation has not only provided materials—it has helped create opportunities for growth, independence, and success.
