My students have been enjoying the recess equipment you helped purchase since the start of the school year. Because of your generosity, my students have not only been able to enhance their recess fun through the use of new balls, and games, but they have also been able to work on team building skills and cooperative play. The opportunity to move around and encourage healthy movement has also played a positive role in my classroom this year.\r\n Most of my 1st grade students come from a home life that does not offer opportunity for play with kids their own age, yet alone the opportunity to have new toys to play with. Your donation has given not only my students, but myself that ability to make recess more interactive, allowing me the opportunity to teach students through play how to work together, how to be a humble winning team and a proud losing team. We have been building on skills such as taking turns, encouraging others, patience, and most of all friendship!\r\n Who knew that recess offered so many opportunities for growth! My first graders have been doing such a great job sharing and working with the new supplies. I truly appreciate your donations which allowed for more fun learning opportunities. Watching my students have fun and work together, building that sense of community within our school makes me proud to be their teacher. Knowing that I am making a difference and encouraging students to bring their new skills into the community in which we live is a reminder of why I do what I do.
