We now have the gravel and seeds needed to grow plants in our tanks for our fish. This will allow them to live in a healthier environment and encourage breeding for out genetics labs. They were able to start the tanks from scratch which made them appreciate them even more.\r\nWe will be able to start learning about the genetics of the fish next school year. We will discuss dominate and recessive traits and determine the possible genotypes of the offspring using Punnett squares. This will help to bring topics to life for the students. This is a project that is really special to me, and I put up every year. It is heartbreaking to see my students walking a mile to school in the snow with only a hoodie on. This project allows me to supply them with the necessary outerwear for our winters. \r\nI allowed my students to pick out the jackets they wanted this year, and they had tears in their eyes. They were so excited to be picking them out. I have a set up in the back of my classroom and anyone who needs gloves are hats can come in and take what they need, no questions asked. This helps with some of the students that are shyer. \r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you!
