So once the students realize that they have a voice or a choice in what they can read boy do you see a difference in attitude. \r\n\r\nMany ask for specific titles or topics and I want to be able to hand them just what they want when they want. I don't want to miss that most important moment. Having the donations that we received recently will help me do just that. \r\n\r\nThis year, I am pleased to report, the students do not want to close their books for my lessons. I catch them reading silently on their own. I watch them read to one another. Many have found duplicate titles so that they can all read the same book at the same time, creating their own little book clubs. This stands to help them improve their reading skills but even more importantly, some might say, improve their desire to read. There is evidence to suggest that students that read for pleasure are more successful academically and isn't that what we all want?","fullyFundedDate":1757712228821,"projectUrl":"project/readers-equal-future-leaders/9689279/","projectTitle":"Readers Equal Future Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marquardt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10244261_orig.png?crop=750,750,x0,y210&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757190624722","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10244261"},{"teacherId":3565873,"projectId":8284794,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to our music classroom! The TinkerTars have become a new favorite small group station this year! The students have really been LOVING exploring the TinkerTars. They have loved figuring out how to play the initial songs written out in the books that come with the TinkerTars (songs like \"Mary Had a Little Lamb,\" \"Happy Birthday,\" etc.). They are fascinated by the ability to change notes on the instrument even though it only has one string.\r\n\r\nIt is such a valuable experience that they get to experiment with the TinkerTars and learn hands on how a string instrument's fret system operates. So far, the students have worked on learning how to play songs that have already been written out as we get used to using these new instruments. However, in the next few weeks, the students will get the chance to write out their own short melodies using the TinkerTars to compose! The ease of the TinkerTar will remove the initial barrier to composing with an instrument. I'm so excited to see what they can create!\r\n\r\nThank you for making this opportunity possible! I couldn't do this without your support of our young musicians!","fullyFundedDate":1711593572192,"projectUrl":"project/lets-rock-with-tinkertars/8284794/","projectTitle":"Let's Rock with TinkerTars!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harding","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3565873_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1460049344501","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/aharding"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48946","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":291,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":70.0,"schoolId":48946,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Millville Area Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Millville Area Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/millville-area-school-district/millville-area-elementary-school/48946"}
