The students were thrilled as we unpacked the insect observation kits, sea creature figures, tray tables, magnifying tools, and science exploration materials together. Their excitement was immediate as they explored each item and shared what they noticed and wondered. Seeing their curiosity come alive as we introduced the new materials was truly a special moment.\r\n\r\nThe tray tables and translucent bugs have been a huge hit, especially at our light table. Students use them daily to create patterns, sort by characteristics, count, and quantify while exploring different insects. They eagerly use magnifiers to look closely at details and work together to compare creatures and discuss habitats. One memorable moment was watching students proudly explain their sorting strategies and discoveries to classmates — they truly felt like real scientists engaged in meaningful learning through play and exploration.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these materials during science centers and small-group investigations as they record observations, create simple science journals, and complete inquiry-based projects about bugs and sea creatures. These hands-on experiences are helping students build curiosity, collaboration skills, and confidence in their learning. Thank you for providing tools that make science interactive, engaging, and joyful for my students. Your generosity is making a lasting difference in our classroom every day.","fullyFundedDate":1762265321889,"projectUrl":"project/from-bugs-to-sea-creatures-science-lear/9737405/","projectTitle":"From Bugs to Sea Creatures: Science Learning That Shines","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bove","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4987414_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742754631061","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/c-bove"},{"teacherId":4987414,"projectId":9182343,"letterContent":"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your incredibly generous donation! My students are absolutely loving the emotion sensory bottles. They've become such a fun and hands-on way for the kids to explore and talk about their feelings, and it's been amazing to watch them connect with the activity. Your gift also brought us so many wonderful new tools, like the Huggle Healers weighted stuffed animals, Bumpas stuffed animals, and the Squishy Sensory Discs. They're already making a big difference in helping the kids manage their emotions, get creative, and dive into learning in a really fun way.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was when we took the sensory discs to the theater. For some students, the discs provided just the right sensory input, helping them enjoy the performance more fully and feel more comfortable in that big, exciting space. It was such a joy to watch them explore the textures, relax, and share that experience with their classmates.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I'm so excited to keep using these resources in our social-emotional learning lessons and creative projects. The kids are practicing how to identify and express their feelings with the sensory bottles, while the weighted and Bumpas stuffed animals are helping them build empathy and teamwork skills. Your generosity has truly made our classroom a brighter, more supportive place, and I'm so grateful for your thoughtful support.","fullyFundedDate":1742955769122,"projectUrl":"project/comforting-hugs-calming-tools-support/9182343/","projectTitle":"Comforting Hugs & Calming Tools: Supporting Emotional Growth in Preschoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bove","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4987414_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742754631061","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/c-bove"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_121682","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":82,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":80.8,"schoolId":121682,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about COTRAIC Churchview Center - Head Start on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"COTRAIC Churchview Center - Head Start","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/office-of-head-start/cotraic-churchview-center-head-start/121682"}
