Because it automatically ejects the pencil when it's done, students don't waste time at the pencil sharpener and get back to their seats faster. \r\n\r\nThe extra thick pencils are great for anti-theft and anti-breaking purposes, but they are also easier for my young students to grip than regular #2 pencils. \r\n\r\nThese are reliable supplies that will last me and my students a long time!","fullyFundedDate":1758293119700,"projectUrl":"project/adjustable-electric-sharpener-and-drawin/9654386/","projectTitle":"Adjustable Electric Sharpener and Drawing Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. AJ","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10189129_orig.jpg?crop=691,691,x193,y300&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756061191737","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10189129"},{"teacherId":10189129,"projectId":9647286,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contributions toward my art room library! Reading can also inspire creative thinking and teach artistic behaviors, which is why I began the year reading \"Beautiful Oops\" by Barney Saltzberg to K-3rd grade. \r\n\r\nOur little library is also a great resource to occupy the time of students who finish their projects early. I can use this with my students tomorrow.\"\r\n\r\nThese texts have introduced me to so many practical strategies rooted in the Science of Reading—things like making phonics instruction more systematic, weaving in daily fluency practice, and using simple routines that help struggling readers feel successful right away. One of the best moments since I started this journey happened during small group time. A student who usually avoids reading aloud lit up after we practiced a new blending routine I learned from these resources. For the first time, they read through an entire decodable book without stopping. The joy and pride on their face was priceless—it reminded me why your generosity matters so much.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, I'm growing as a teacher and my students are discovering that reading can feel both possible and joyful. I've seen them take a few deep breaths with the sensory bottle or snuggle into the pillow, then return to their work calmer and more focused. One of the most beautiful changes has been watching students encourage each other to use the Calm Down Corner when they notice a classmate having a tough moment—it's becoming a space of care and kindness, not just calm.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students are learning more than academics—they're building self-awareness, resilience, and the confidence to handle big emotions. With headphones, students can focus on their individual lessons without being distracted by the noise of a busy classroom. They are able to clearly hear directions, stories, and phonics lessons, which has been especially helpful for my emerging readers. The computer mice have made it easier for students to navigate online programs, allowing them to work more independently and confidently.\r\n\r\nThe excitement on their faces when they first used the new equipment was priceless. For many, it felt like stepping into a whole new world of learning. One of my students, who often struggled with the touchpad and would get frustrated during online activities, now beams with pride as he quickly clicks through his assignments using the mouse. Another student, who has been working hard on her reading fluency, loves using the headphones to listen to stories and record herself reading along. These small changes have given students a greater sense of ownership over their learning and boosted their confidence in using technology.\r\n\r\nYour donation has provided more than just classroom tools—it has given my students the chance to learn with focus, independence, and joy.
