Students moved through small-group academic activities throughout the school day. The calming area allows them to explore the materials hands-on—everything from experimenting with the new sensory fidgets to using our new canoe, rocker or peanut. One of my favorite moments came when a group of students used their new library furniture together. They were so excited to read together and be in such a cozy learning environment.\r\n\r\nTheir reactions when they first saw the materials were priceless. Several students gasped, a few cheered out loud, and more than one asked, \"Are these really for us?\" That excitement carried into the rest of the day—students who are usually hesitant were suddenly volunteering, participating, and taking academic risks because the new tools made the learning feel accessible and fun.\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping make these moments possible. My students are thrilled every time they see new boxes from Donors Choose come in. The midi keyboards are go to be a huge help for my older students when we start our piano unit. \r\n\r\nMidi keyboards are a great way for students to learn piano as it incorporates technology into our music learning. These keyboards will connect to their chromebooks and allow them to see the music coming across the screen as they are playing. It also will allow them to play around with different sounds and settings on the keyboards to begin to create their own beats and songs that they will perform later in the year. Everything is moving to technology so we need to change as well. Normal keyboards take up a lot of space, which we don't really have. The midi keyboards are much smaller which makes storing them and keeping them safe much easier.\r\n\r\nMusic technology is the reason we have the music we do.
