The benches will be assembled next, and our students can't wait to start using them! We've been learning about plant growth and sustainability in the classroom, and these resources will make those lessons hands-on and meaningful once our greenhouse is complete.\r\n\r\nOur students were so excited when the materials arrived! They immediately started talking about what they wanted to grow and how they could help care for the plants. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and curiosity come to life as they imagined working in their new greenhouse space.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to assemble the potting benches and prepare the greenhouse for planting. Once construction is complete, we'll begin planting seeds and observing the growth process firsthand. This project will give our students valuable opportunities to learn responsibility, teamwork, and science skills in a fun, hands-on way. It has been in our rec room for about two weeks now and almost every student in the school has been able to access it. For some it's just a game, but for our population it's an opportunity to make friends, practice social skills and exert some physical activity. \r\nOur BES classroom practices life/work skills and assembled the unit with staff assistance! The pride they have shown in \"their basketball game\" is heartwarming. \r\nI have included pictures of some of the kids playing. There are students participating with each other that at times can't even walk down the hall at the same time. Thank you again for your generosity.
