I can not tell you how my heart was touched when I saw that my project/Professional Development had been fully funded! It gave me such hope and inspired me to bring more to my students. As teachers we see many things in the classroom- we see moments of beautiful growth and learning and we see areas of deep need. The training I received from the Breathe for Change Program was invaluable, and your support allowed me to learn so many applicable strategies to teach my students. These are strategies that both adults and children can apply in everyday circumstances to help live a healthier life. \r\n Mental health is such an important, yet passed over piece of our existence. This training covered the five CASEL competencies of Self-awareness, Self- management, Social awareness, Relationship skills and responsible Decision making. It covered ways to integrate the arts with identifying emotions and expressing oneself. It taught me so many tricks for my toolbox of coping strategies that I can pass onto my kiddos.\r\n I learned about Yoga philosophy, Asanas, Meditation exercises and Mindfulness practices that can be applied in minutes a day to help regulate myself and my students. \r\n If I forget to start with three breaths - they are the first to remind me! I hear them talk to each other in such encouraging ways...\"Take a minute to pause and breathe and then try it again.\" It makes my heart so happy to hear this. Many have come back to school and shared that they have taught a cousin or parent some of the breathing strategies (ie. square breathing or lion's breath)\r\n Thank you for your support- I will not forget your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1737756300692,"projectUrl":"project/if-youre-awareyoure-half-way-there/8805734/","projectTitle":"If You're Aware,You're Half-Way There!
