While I have always strived to provide a wide range of content for students to enjoy as pleasure reading, I was hesitant to spend too much budget money on the Dogman series. Kids had asked for them in the past but they are at a bit of a lower level for middle schoolers. With that being said, however, I decided to create a Donor's choose project requesting the series as well as some additional graphic novels to add to our collection. Reading for pleasure, while not necessarily an academic pursuit, is a lifelong skill that as a librarian I try hard to encourage, so if they want Dogman, I want to find a way to provide it. \r\n\r\nAs I stated earlier this project exceeded my expectations. I could not(and still cannot) keep these books on the shelves. I had to request an extension on my thank you package because the area where the books are displayed is always empty! If your goal in funding this project is to get more kids reading(as is my goal) then mark this one in the win column!
