Ivan's story invited deep discussions about empathy, friendship, and the importance of using our voices for what's right. As we followed Ivan's journey, my students became more engaged than I've seen them all year. They connected with the characters, asked thoughtful questions, and reflected on important themes like animal rights, courage, and hope.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, this was the first time a book truly made them feel. It sparked writing pieces, artwork, and even classroom debates. We laughed, cried, and most of all, grew together as readers and as people.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us discover a story that will stay with us long after the final page.","fullyFundedDate":1739375091819,"projectUrl":"project/a-love-of-reading-starts-in-the-classroo/9084061/","projectTitle":"A Love of Reading Starts in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bonilla","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5507942_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756256604070","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5507942"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2052","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":632,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":26,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":53.4,"schoolId":2052,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cherrydale Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Cherrydale Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/greenville-county-schools/cherrydale-elementary-school/2052"}
