I have been teaching for 23 years, and I have never seen students get so engaged and involved with a story line before. I wondered a bit about how they would handle reading Animal Farm, but they dug into it and loved it.\r\n With your donation, the students were able to each have their own copy to use to read and answer questions. That may not seem like a big deal, but having the written story in their hands made it much more personal for the students. While the world can get crazy, they were able to grab the book and understand the importance of equity, justice, a fair government, the dangers of exploitation and propaganda, and many more. The projects that were able to come out of your donation far exceeded what I expected. They really, really, really dug being able to show their learning and understanding of the book. Their favorite thing (which I found surprising) was to create a playlist of songs that matched the story. It was so cool to see how intimately the understood the storyline and how they were able to then connect it to their own life.
