Because of your generosity, my students have been able to experience what it truly means to celebrate one another and be part of a positive, connected school community.\r\n\r\nThe instant camera has become such a powerful tool in our classroom. While many people think of technology as something used strictly for academics, this project has shown how it can also support social-emotional learning in meaningful ways. Students are using the camera to capture real moments of kindness, teamwork, and encouragement happening throughout our school.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful parts of this project has been the opportunity to highlight teachers and staff, while also involving families in the process. Each week, parents are able to nominate a teacher or staff member to be recognized. Students then help celebrate those individuals by capturing photos and sharing their impact. This has created a meaningful connection between home and school, allowing students to see how appreciation and gratitude extend beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for my students is the joy that comes from recognizing others. They love being able to document these moments and share them, and it has created a ripple effect of positivity. Students are more aware of their actions, more intentional with their words, and more connected to the people around them.","fullyFundedDate":1758805867698,"projectUrl":"project/picture-this-celebrating-each-other-all/9752872/","projectTitle":"Picture This: Celebrating Each Other All Year Long!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ihmeidan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1414766_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509939218075","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsihmeidan"},{"teacherId":1414766,"projectId":5602765,"letterContent":"From the bottom of my heart—thank you! Your generous support of this project means the world to me and to the nearly 50 third graders I have the privilege of teaching every day. Thanks to you, our classroom is about to become an even more caring, connected, and emotionally supportive place to learn and grow.\r\n\r\nOur students have faced so many challenges in recent years. From quarantines to online learning, they've endured disruptions that have impacted not only their academic progress but also their emotional well-being. Your donation allows us to take an intentional step toward healing and growth by making social-emotional learning a central, joyful part of our classroom culture.\r\n\r\nThe books and lesson plans funded through this project will help us explore big, meaningful topics like managing emotions, developing empathy, making thoughtful decisions, and building strong relationships. With these resources, I'll be able to create engaging lessons that meet students right where they are—using powerful stories and age-appropriate discussions to build confidence, connection, and community.\r\n\r\nI'm especially excited to use The Colorful Apple's interactive read-alouds, which align beautifully with the needs of my diverse learners. These moments will become anchor points in our day—opportunities to reflect, grow, and learn not just academics, but the life skills that will shape who my students become.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in teachers. The addition of over 30 seasonal Palm Pals will do more than brighten our space—they will support students' social-emotional development, create shared classroom traditions, and make learning more joyful and engaging.\r\n\r\nBy rotating the Palm Pals with each season, students will experience a classroom that reflects the rhythm of the year, much like the decorations and traditions they enjoy at home.
