This would not have been possible without your generous financial assistance. Thank you for believing in my vision and supporting my students. We cannot begin to thank you for your kindness. In the coming months, more students will receive LitDash boxes thanks to your donations. I hope that receiving these incentives will help to foster a culture of reading at my school. Words cannot express my gratitude. My students and I appreciate your thoughtfulness and compassion shown by contributing to a clean classroom. I firmly believe that a clean, organized room creates a better learning environment. We strive to provide an area for students to feel comfortable and welcomed each and every day. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the cleaning items, I stretched my ability to provide a welcoming environment by requesting social emotional tools as well. We see students that struggle with focus, emotional strain, among other distractions. The supplies requested and delivered will provide a means of refocus and stability to maintain a positive sense of responsibility throughout the class period. \r\n\r\nAgain, we are extremely grateful for the kindness demonstrated by you for supporting a vision of greatness. We are using the atom model kits during our Matter and Energy unit to compare and contrast elements and compounds by physically building them. One powerful classroom moment came during a station lab when students modeled elements using a single type of atom and then combined atoms to create compounds. Students were able to explain the difference between atoms and molecules and connect their models directly to chemical symbols and formulas, which showed a deeper level of understanding than notes alone.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were immediately excited and curious. Many asked when they would get to use them and began making predictions about what they could build. Once the kits were in their hands, even students who typically struggle with reading or abstract concepts were eager to participate. The hands-on nature of the materials helped boost confidence, collaboration, and engagement across the classroom.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using the models to strengthen their understanding of chemical formulas and prepare for upcoming assessments aligned to TEKS 7.6A. They will also use the kits to model simple chemical reactions before transitioning into more advanced concepts about matter later in the unit. Your generosity gave my students access to learning experiences that made chemistry clearer, more engaging, and more accessible—and for that, we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1757555028807,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-chemistry-to-life-with-atom-mod/9441356/","projectTitle":"Bringing Chemistry to Life With Atom Model Kits","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Holmes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9558057_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y4&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718940083069","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/tedrickholmes"},{"teacherId":9075493,"projectId":9234138,"letterContent":"The books that I selected for the classroom have been a hit! It's a great way for students to learn without actually knowing it! Getting them to read informational text is a woozy but these books prese the info in a non-threatening way. They are able to choose what they want to read and explore that topic fully. This project has helped students to connect with History in a more \"fun\" way.\r\n\r\nWe use the books to introduce a new unit and/or let students read if they are done with their work. The books are great for those kids that need visuals to tell the story. This is essential to fostering positive learning environments and supporting academic success. From noise-canceling headphones that support students with sensory sensitivities to audio tools that aid language learners and support personalized learning, headsets are essential assets for accessibility. The donation of the headsets to my classes have made such a wonderful difference to my students. They were so excited and grateful to have new headsets to use while they are learning. The smiles on their faces and the pride that they take in taking care of them is so rewarding to me as their teacher. They were exited about creating the \" Thank You\" posters and they wanted then all to be on display.
