When the liquid tempera, tempera sticks, paint palettes, permanent markers, and chalk pastels arrived, you should have seen my students' faces!!! They were absolutely thrilled that all these special materials were theirs to use. A couple kids even cried with joy.\r\n\r\nOne moment really stands out is during our first color-mixing lesson, students grabbed the tempera paints and palettes and started creating secondary and tertiary colors. They were calling out to each other across the room, comparing what they'd mixed, and then using everything they'd figured out for their art portfolios. It was exactly the kind of hands-on learning I'd hoped for.\r\n\r\nThe chalk pastels have been another hit. Students have been practicing blending techniques, and there's been no shortage of those satisfying \"aha!\" moments when they realize how to make colors flow together and add depth to their work. Honestly, these are supplies we just wouldn't have been able to get otherwise, and they've completely transformed what we can do in our color unit.\r\n\r\nNow students are taking everything they've learned and applying it to a bigger mixed-media project that pulls together color theory, blending, and their own creative voices. Your gift didn't just give us art supplies, it gave my students the chance to learn more, create more, and see themselves as real artists. I'm so grateful you made this possible for them.","fullyFundedDate":1757104525371,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-beckers-artrageous-studio/9522050/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Becker's ARTrageous Studio!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Becker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10104381_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757275097064","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10104381"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_13877","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":490,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":80.5,"schoolId":13877,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mary Branch Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Mary Branch Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/bryan-independent-school-district/mary-branch-elementary-school/13877"}
