They could not wait to play with their new center. The kitchen has allowed my students to learn how to play together. They enjoy making different plates for others to eat. \r\n\r\nThe students all wanted to play together at once when we brought the kitchen out. This allowed them to take turns and work on waiting. Students with disabilities often struggle with waiting and playing with their peers. This has allowed my students to grow in their social emotional skills. \r\n\r\nAs we continue to work in our classroom the kitchen is used as a reward for working well and for free play. The students look forward to it all day! I would love to incorporate like a restaurant way to play to wear we take orders and the students practice building the request. We will continue to use the kitchen to grow in social skills!","fullyFundedDate":1757014924973,"projectUrl":"project/play-kitchen-for-lifeskills-classroom/9349923/","projectTitle":"Play Kitchen for Lifeskills Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Allums","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10033769_orig.jpg?crop=3072,3072,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747071085924","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10033769"},{"teacherId":3951344,"projectId":9132932,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping us with this project. These items in the project have been put to good use. Chez Bob is a class favorite, and they choose to read it often. The feelings chart has been a life saver. It has helped many friends in class learn to better express what they are feeling, as well as give them alternative ways to manage that emotion. \r\nThe little table is a fan favorite too! The printer has already been very useful. When mistakes happen and more copies need to be made, but I can't run down to the teacher lounge during class to make another copy. I can go use the class printer. Also being able to make copies of station activities in color and not have to run, to my local copy center and pay out of pocket has been extra special! The cutting board has been useful to cut station activities and different size paper we need in class for a variety of math lessons. The pencil sharpener will come in handy soon; because the one we used all year is starting to eat up pencils. The thermal laminating pouches are awesome for allowing the station activities to last longer and be used again. \r\nI am so appreciative, because of people like you that were able to help out!
