Your support has truly transformed our learning environment in ways that are both meaningful and heartwarming.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the rug was unrolled, our students' faces lit up with excitement. There were wide eyes, huge smiles, and an immediate rush to find \"their spot.\" Several students exclaimed that it made our classroom feel \"cozy like home.\" That very first day, we gathered on the rug for our read-aloud, and the sense of comfort and community was instantly noticeable. The students were more relaxed, attentive, and eager to participate.\r\n\r\nThe rug has quickly become one of the most loved spaces in our classroom. Students use it daily as a calming corner when they need a quiet moment to reset and refocus. It serves as our meeting area for morning meetings, mini-lessons, and read-aloud time. During independent work, many students choose to lay on their tummies on the rug or sit in our scoop chairs placed around it to complete assignments. Having flexible seating options has allowed students to find positions that help them focus best, which has led to improved engagement and productivity.\r\n\r\nOne special moment that stands out happened during a recent reading workshop. Students gathered on the rug to partner-read and discuss character traits from our class novel. Watching them spread out comfortably, deeply engaged in conversation, pointing to evidence in their books, and supporting one another's thinking was powerful. The rug created a collaborative space where learning felt natural and joyful.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are beginning a new writing unit focused on personal narratives. The rug will continue to be our central space for brainstorming sessions, peer sharing, and author celebrations. Students will gather there to share their stories, offer feedback, and celebrate each other's growth as writers.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students a comfortable, welcoming space to learn, grow, and thrive. Your generosity has made a lasting impact in our classrooms, and we are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1764707737295,"projectUrl":"project/a-cozy-corner-for-connection-and-imagina/9573660/","projectTitle":"A Cozy Corner for Connection and Imagination","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vasquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9029299_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755828169670","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/happyblessedteacher"},{"teacherId":9619678,"projectId":9381411,"letterContent":"The new camera provide my students with the ability to see the world with new and clearer eyes. Using the camera allowed them to be more conscious and aware about their surroundings. They took pictures about almost everything you can imagine, and enjoyed viewing and modifying the pictures on the computer. The photo editing became a tool that they really enjoyed. They had fun with it.\r\n\r\nMy students liked the fact, that they basically could take endless picture, because they were able to delete anything they did not like. Only the battery was the limit, but since we could use AA batteries, backup power was always available. \r\n\r\nSome of my students even started asking their parents if they could get a digital camera to use it whenever they like. Many have already become lacing experts, and I've noticed their fine motor skills improving significantly. It's incredible to see how confidently they handle the materials now, from tracing letters to manipulating small pieces, and how proud they feel when they master a new skill. Our Friday bingo days have quickly become a classroom favorite. I've seen them confidently name letters, objects, and words in both languages, which has strengthened their overall language development and boosted their confidence. Even those who were once hesitant to try new tasks are now eager to explore, practice, and share their learning with classmates. I am deeply grateful for making this possible. Your generosity has provided tools that make learning hands-on, interactive, and meaningful. You didn't just provide material you have given my students confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. Thank you from all of the Pollitos for helping us create a classroom where students can explore, grow, and take pride in their accomplishments every day.","fullyFundedDate":1755727011811,"projectUrl":"project/early-literacy-for-young-learners/9270842/","projectTitle":"Early Literacy for Young Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gomez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10003521_orig.jpg?crop=315,315,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745529465102","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10003521"},{"teacherId":9619678,"projectId":9325286,"letterContent":"First of all, \"Thank you\" for your support and making it possible for us to receive the Sphero Bolt+ robots in our classroom. They also learning already, that a little mistake can have a huge impact on what a robot or machine will do. \r\n\r\nSince we received the Bolt+ my students can program many different activities. Besides the movement they can add light, sound, picture, short videos, and measure temperature and global position. All these option really excited my students, because there are now so many more options that they have when it comes to programing.\r\n\r\nSome of my students even ask me if I can buy them some of the robots, so that they can practice at home. Even my new students love them already and use them when they work on their laptops. \r\n\r\nThe use of them will change this school year, because I will teach only math and science. We created a check-out routine and the students have been getting the books ever since. My students have time every day to read. When we do centers, one of them is always reading and the students use that opportunity to get the new books. They can test on them and they can self check their comprehension.\r\n\r\nSome of my students even made their own reading group where they take turns reading the stories to each other. That shows, that reading can be a social activity that you can do together with others. It is like their own book club, and they discuss the text and share their opinions. That is very important, because outside the classroom, many of my students only interact with others through online games or text messaging. While reading they practice social skills as well.\r\nThank you again for your support and know that your generous donation is put to got use.","fullyFundedDate":1738209087879,"projectUrl":"project/venturing-through-different-worlds-with/9007377/","projectTitle":"Venturing Through Different Worlds With Wizards and Goblins","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. K.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9619678_orig.png?crop=540,540,x0,y117&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722558049486","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9619678"},{"teacherId":9619678,"projectId":9001573,"letterContent":"My students were so excited when I told them that our project to get a TV into our classroom was funded. They could not wait until it would arrive, and when I set it up they wanted to use it right away. Together, we identify programming that would give us news that would be appropriate for 4th grade. We try to use it at least twice a week. My students appreciate that we discuss real life events in the classroom and have fun discussing the news.\r\nSince it is a Smart TV, the students can project their computer screens on it and display their work for the whole class to see. This allows them to quickly share their work with their classmates. While most of my students have their own computers or tablets at home, some don't. These students have enjoyed the new technology that is now available to them. In addition to the TV, we received some computer/printer risers. These risers allow us to manage our available space better and my students really appreciate the pencil storage that is build into them. No more lost pencils.
