The cardstock paper, Play-Doh, and sensory table materials have already made learning more engaging and hands-on for my pre-K students. One project that really showed their impact was our \"All About Me\" activity. Students created little books using the sturdy cardstock, decorated them with drawings and sensory textures, and used Play-Doh to make simple figures or letters that represented themselves. The sensory table added another layer of exploration, giving students calming, tactile ways to express their ideas.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement filled the room. They immediately ran to explore—some went straight for the Play-Doh, while others touched and sifted through the new sensory textures with huge smiles. Their reactions made it clear that these materials sparked curiosity and joy from the very beginning.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve using these resources to support ongoing literacy and STEM lessons. Students will use the cardstock to make alphabet journals, practice writing their names, and illustrate simple stories. Play-Doh will help them form letters and numbers while strengthening fine-motor skills. The sensory table will rotate through new themed bins tied to our units on seasons, animals, and community helpers, helping students build early math and science skills through sorting, measuring, and exploring.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, my students now learn in a more creative, interactive, and joyful environment every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1764117935328,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-needs/9925791/","projectTitle":"Classroom Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Saldivar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4798647_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1516972450619","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-saldivar08"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9433","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":820,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":13,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":48,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"19.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":94.7,"schoolId":9433,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brookwood Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Brookwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/clear-creek-independent-school-district/brookwood-elementary-school/9433"}
