The story of Last Stop on Market Street is part of our curriculum and is always a favorite with students. And because this book is dear to my heart, I take great pleasure in leading discussions about this lovely book, as well as reading it to them, especially the very first time. \r\n\r\nNow they hold their very own book about CJ in their hands, read it with their families. My kindergartens are either reading, or beginning readers. My best and earliest reader, was excited to tell me that he had finally finished the book, reading each night a few pages with his grandmother, who he lives with, just like the character in the book. \r\n\r\nSometimes, kindergarteners are loud, distracted, emotional, and little bundles of energy, even a bit disruptive, and administrators and their devotion to the testing that disrupts our lessons, it can be wearisome....but when a student shows you they love books, and begin to read, well, it is worth every ounce of effort, every long day. Thank you for being a part of opening the whole world to these lovely little people.","fullyFundedDate":1734099411638,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-bridge-to-community-through-b/8809220/","projectTitle":"Building a Bridge to Community Through Books","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Susie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8378575_orig.jpg?crop=1931,1931,x429,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1653421304422","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8378575"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16359","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":121,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":54,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - Pre-K","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":41.7,"schoolId":16359,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Early Childhood Center on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Early Childhood Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/crockett-independent-school-district/early-childhood-development-center/16359"}
