I am immensely grateful for your incredible generosity and support. Because of your donation of ukuleles, my students and I have had the privilege of exploring them while learning various songs! They are already making a meaningful impact in our music classroom.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students first saw the materials, their excitement was undeniable. Their eyes widened with excitement, and their enthusiasm filled the room. It was one of those unforgettable moments in teaching—watching their joy as they eagerly explored the new tools available to them. One student even exclaimed, \"Now we get to play with you Ms. Sosa!\" It was a reminder of how something as simple as new learning resources can spark a genuine love for learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding moments so far has been using ukuleles for our music lessons. We are learning various songs that they enjoy listening and singing too! My students were fully engaged, working together in ways I hadn't seen before. For example, when we started working on our \"Hello Song\", I saw students collaborating and problem-solving while learning the new song. Some even started actually singing the song while they learned the ukuleles chords for the \"Hello Song\". The materials have transformed not only the way they learn but also how they interact with each other—building confidence, curiosity, and creativity.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided us with more than just supplies—it has given my students new opportunities to grow, explore, and imagine beyond what they thought possible. As we continue our current lesson on learning, the \"LAVA\" song, we are taking exciting next steps. Soon, my students will be able to play the \"LAVA\" song in the their ukuleles and showcase that to their friends and family at our annual Spring Performance. I know that these resources will continue to enrich their educational journey and even impact our surrounding community! \r\n\r\nEvery day, I witness the impact of your kindness. You have given my students an experience they will remember—a reminder that there are people who believe in their potential and want to see them succeed. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for being a part of our learning journey. \r\n\r\nWith deepest gratitude, \r\nCandice Sosa\r\nJulius Dorsey Leadership Academy \r\nMusic Teacher","fullyFundedDate":1735583805868,"projectUrl":"project/ukulele-magic-crafting-joy-one-note-at/8811809/","projectTitle":"Ukulele Magic: Crafting Joy One Note at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sosa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9772565_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726957084155","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9772565"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18298","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":395,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":18298,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Julius Dorsey Leadership School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Julius Dorsey Leadership School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dallas-independent-school-district/julius-dorsey-elementary-school/18298"}
