Books are shared in small groups or one-on-one, with time to pause, look closely at the illustrations, and talk about what is happening in the story. Students make personal connections, practice calming strategies they see modeled in the books, and share what they would do in similar situations. This approach helps every child feel included and successful during reading time.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with these books. Some who once struggled to talk about their feelings now eagerly share their thoughts, while others enjoy recognizing themselves in the characters and practicing the strategies they learn. Students feel more confident taking risks because they know they can erase and try again. Even my quieter students are more willing to participate, and I am able to quickly check for understanding and give immediate feedback during lessons.\r\n\r\nThese materials are now a daily part of our classroom routine and are used across subjects. As we continue working through new skills and concepts, the whiteboards allow students to practice, reflect, and improve in real time.
