Because of your kindness, my 9th-grade biology students will now have the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of genetics through hands-on gel electrophoresis labs.\r\n\r\nThe power source you helped fund is a critical part of our gel electrophoresis setup. It allows students to apply an electric current to a gel, which separates DNA fragments by size. This process helps them see DNA in action, rather than just reading about it in a textbook. For many students, this visual and tactile experience makes complex concepts like molecular biology and genetic analysis much easier to understand.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting to my students is the chance to use the same equipment that real scientists use. They love loading DNA samples into the gel, watching the bands form, and interpreting the results. It feels like they're doing \"real science,\" and that sense of authenticity boosts their confidence and curiosity.\r\n\r\nThis technology has made our biology lessons more interactive and memorable. It's helping students build critical thinking skills, ask deeper questions, and even consider future careers in science and technology.\r\n\r\nYour donation helps bridge the gap and ensures that every student, regardless of background, can participate in high-quality science education. I'm excited to see their curiosity grow and their confidence soar as they dive into this lab work.\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their future.","fullyFundedDate":1747448025182,"projectUrl":"project/electro-explores-give-students-the-powe/9355992/","projectTitle":"Electro-Explores: Give students the power to explore DNA with Electrophoresis!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10035906"},{"teacherId":10020684,"projectId":9362101,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support of my classroom. The books and supplies have created a learning-centric environment where all students can be successful. Students have commented on how welcoming and organized they find my classroom. This is largely in thanks to your gift of classroom materials. All students have access to the notebooks, pens, pencils and supplies they need in my class.\r\n\r\nEven more excitingly, we have begun reading our first full-class novel, Gene Luen Yang's American Born Chinese. Students are already invested in the story and eager to finish up in the next few class periods. I love the way this story helps students step out of their comfort zones and volunteer to read parts. Others can't put the book down and have read ahead by a chapter or two. In moments like these I am grateful for the lasting impact of your support.\r\n\r\nA year full of learning is still ahead, and I am looking forward to every minute of it. Thank you again.
