Having a safe space to remove themselves from over stimulation , yet still hear and see tier 1 instruction has greatly benefited all students. \r\nSome of my students require opposite needs such as a well light environment, while others need a quite calm dimly lite space. Our lamps provide students with diferenciated needs. \r\nI service three different grade levels who all love our classroom. They are very detailed oriented therefore they notice each time we receive new donations to our classroom. They take ownership by making sure to take care of each item in our classroom. \r\n\r\nStudents love the transformation from how our classroom started to now. My goal now is to add a little more serenity to the calming area by removing the single desk and replacing it with a small shelf. Also, our next project students asked for comfortable chairs to sit, although the do enjoy sitting on the area rug in the calming space. I did some research and plants help the setting become more peaceful. Thanks to our project being funded, we received mini artificial plants. I also plan to bring real plants as well. Overall, \r\nwe are grateful for all of your help making our classroom mentally fit for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1750774643265,"projectUrl":"project/mentally-fitting-learning-environment/9428241/","projectTitle":"Mentally Fitting Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kimmie Kimble","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9419890_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734510283865","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9419890"},{"teacherId":8575230,"projectId":9059908,"letterContent":"We sincerely appreciate your generous donation of snacks for our tutoring program. Your support helps us create a space where students feel valued and motivated to succeed.\r\n\r\nThe students were truly grateful for your thoughtful contribution. Seeing their smiles and hearing their words of appreciation was a reminder of how small gestures can have a meaningful impact. The new texts have introduced powerful lessons on grief, loss, love, and resilience. Through beautifully illustrated and inclusive stories, students are learning to embrace who they are, persevere through challenges, and navigate their emotions in a healthy way. For many children with disabilities, seeing themselves represented in these illustrations has been incredibly meaningful, fostering a sense of belonging and self-worth.\r\n\r\nIn my one-on-one counseling sessions, reading has become a vital tool for emotional and behavioral growth. Each book is carefully chosen to align with a child's individualized educational plan, helping them process their feelings and develop coping strategies. I've witnessed students experience \"aha\" moments as they connect with a character's journey, using these stories as a bridge to talk about their own experiences.\r\n\r\nSome students have been particularly drawn to books that feature characters who reflect their own culture and identities. This representation has sparked excitement, validation, and deep conversations. Beyond books, this project has also provided calming sensory items and a CBT-based board game, which have been instrumental in helping students articulate their emotions, express gratitude, and develop emotional regulation skills.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, these resources have become a crucial part of our students' emotional and social development. Your support is making a lasting difference—one story, one conversation, and one breakthrough at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1740498130925,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-minds-building-confidence-a/9117405/","projectTitle":"\"Empowering Minds: Building Confidence and Calm in the Classroom\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morgan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9714079_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y72&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724866248283","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9714079"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17639","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":270,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":67,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":17639,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edward J Briscoe Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Edward J Briscoe Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/fort-worth-independent-school-district/edward-j-briscoe-elementary-school/17639"}
