Thank you so much for providing the journals, maps, and new books to our classroom! The children were very excited to see the big, blank map of the United States on our social studies bulletin board. They have learned to sing the 50 Nifty United States song and are now beginning to discover where each of those states is located. They have used it to identify the major bodies of water in and around the US after hearing the book, Rivers of Sunlight. It was the perfect way to start our water cycle and weather unit. They also used the map to identify the area most affected by the Dust Bowl while learning about weathering and erosion in science. \r\n\r\nMany of the books will be used in our upcoming ecosystems and adaptations units. All of the books will be used for many years to come. They are all perfect for integrating science and social studies.
