They are learning about seeing different values of color in pictures and layering other colors on top of each other. They also learned about two artists that are experts at their craft. \r\nI can't wait to see how their projects turn out when they are finished. It is definitely keeping them engaged. While these items may look simple, they are powerful tools in an early childhood setting. Sensory materials help students explore the world through touch, movement, and play while also supporting self-regulation and focus. Fine motor activities strengthen the small muscles in their hands, which are essential for writing, cutting, and everyday independence.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is that learning now feels like play. They are eager to twist, squeeze, build, sort, and manipulate materials during centers. The new classroom furniture has created cozy, inviting spaces where students feel comfortable sitting, working, and collaborating with peers. Having child-sized furniture helps them feel independent and confident in their environment.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who previously struggled to focus, follow directions, or manage big emotions have especially benefited from these materials. The sensory tools provide calming support when they feel overwhelmed, and the fine motor activities give them a sense of accomplishment as they build strength and coordination. Overall, this project has helped create a classroom where students feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn — laying a strong foundation for their academic and social success.","fullyFundedDate":1759772730220,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-hearts-building-bright-futures/9698240/","projectTitle":"Hands-on Hearts: Building Bright Futures Through Sensory Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Frank","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10248486"},{"teacherId":10115685,"projectId":9554759,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the art supplies.
