From the moment the boxes were opened, students crowded around with excitement—pointing at the models, asking questions, and eagerly imagining what they would discover. We immediately incorporated the resources into our life science unit, and one of the most memorable moments came when students used the slides to observe real insect structures under the microscope. The room filled with gasps and enthusiastic whispers as they connected what they were seeing to each stage of the butterfly's transformation.\r\n\r\nTheir reactions were priceless—several students said they had never looked through a microscope before, and others were amazed by the fine details in the wings and body segments. When they compared the physical models of the egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult butterfly to what they saw on the slides, the learning became real and meaningful. One student excitedly shared, \"It feels like I'm discovering something scientists actually study!\" That sense of ownership and curiosity has continued to grow with each activity.\r\n\r\nThese materials will continue to guide students through deeper investigations as they move into their next steps—creating detailed diagrams, building comparative models, and preparing short presentations on their scientific observations. Thanks to your generous donation, our students are not only learning about metamorphosis but experiencing science in a hands-on, engaging way that they will remember for years to come. We are sincerely grateful for the impact you've made in our classroom and in our community.","fullyFundedDate":1759198336391,"projectUrl":"project/microscope-slides/9530743/","projectTitle":"Microscope Slides","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10110072"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_93514","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":180,"numTeachers":17,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":99,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":25.0,"schoolId":93514,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jose Borrego Middle School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Jose Borrego Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/monte-alto-independent-school-district/jose-borrego-middle-school-monte-alto-isd/93514"}
