These may seem like simple items, but in our classroom, they've made a heartfelt difference in both our daily routines and our learning experiences.\r\n\r\nOne special moment that stands out was during a recent STEM exploration day. Students worked in small groups using the STEM toys to design and build their own creations. They sketched out their ideas first using the reusable markers, revising and improving their plans as they went. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and encourage one another was incredibly meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were full of joy and appreciation. The reusable markers were especially exciting because they gave students a sense of pride in their work—they were eager to create, label, and share their ideas in a more polished and colorful way. The STEM toys immediately sparked curiosity and hands-on engagement.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on this excitement. Students are now working on more structured STEM challenges where they must design solutions to real-world problems. They'll be using the markers to plan, revise, and present their thinking, and the STEM toys to test and improve their ideas. We are also focusing on teamwork and communication as they share their learning with one another.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly created a warm, engaging, and inspiring classroom environment. One moment that stood out was during a small-group activity where students used the markers to create anchor charts together. They were fully engaged—discussing ideas, adding details, and taking pride in their work. At the same time, having tissues, wipes, and air fresheners easily available has helped us quickly handle little disruptions so we can stay focused on learning.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited. Something as simple as fresh markers and a clean, well-stocked classroom made them feel valued and ready to learn. They immediately wanted to help organize and take care of the supplies, which showed their sense of responsibility and pride in our classroom.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue building on their current lessons by working more collaboratively in small groups and creating more student-led projects using the markers. We're also focusing on maintaining our classroom environment together—students are taking ownership of keeping things clean and organized so we can make the most of our learning time. This can be anything from a joke book they are reading with a friend, a graphic-novel, or a chapter book. We practice reading silently and out loud to partner.
