I am very blessed to serve a multicultural elementary school where diversity is celebrated. I think it is so important that all of our students can find representation of themselves in the books in the library. This year I really noticed that we had a lack of diverse holiday books, which is just not acceptable. Your donation has helped me purchase books about many different holidays from many different cultures. I have already had so many students excited to see books about Ramadan on the shelf, because they were in the midst of participating in Ramadan themselves. Representation is important, but also these books are teaching all students about holidays they may not have known about before. All around, we are so excited to have these new books in our library and in the hands of our children.","fullyFundedDate":1734399940154,"projectUrl":"project/celebrating-diversity-with-picture-books/9004866/","projectTitle":"Celebrating Diversity with Picture Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5897980_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630678979576","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-cmoon"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_14932","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":532,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":67,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":14932,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Burnett Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Burnett Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/pasadena-independent-school-district/burnett-elementary-school/14932"}
