These new book sets, such as Just Ask and the Who Was biography series, give my students opportunities to see themselves in stories while also learning about important figures from history. The SEL books help us practice empathy, kindness, and understanding one another, while the biographies spark curiosity about leaders, dreamers, and innovators who shaped our world. With these resources, students are not only building their reading comprehension skills, but also learning how to make connections, ask deeper questions, and carry important lessons into their own lives.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading looks like students gathered together for read-alouds, small groups diving into discussion, and independent readers exploring books that speak to their interests. Some students are drawn to learning about astronauts or presidents, while others connect most with stories about identity and belonging. It is inspiring to watch even my reluctant readers sit up a little straighter when they find a story that reflects their own experiences or challenges them to dream big.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students will also have access to helpful tools like graphic organizers and social studies posters, which guide them in organizing their thoughts and building background knowledge. And of course, the healthy snacks you've provided will keep them fueled and ready to focus. Your support ensures that every child in my class has the chance to grow not only as readers, but as thoughtful, confident learners.","fullyFundedDate":1755738791311,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-love-supplies-for-success/9491989/","projectTitle":"Learning with Love: Supplies for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Henry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10089427_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753231531523","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10089427"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96042","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":698,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":51,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"20.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.0,"schoolId":96042,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Harper Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Harper Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/princeton-independent-school-district/harper-elementary-school/96042"}
