Students have easily transitioned into our new routine for charging their iPads. With this new organization it is easier for students to find the charger for their specific iPad, check that it is working, and use it to charge their Logitech crayon as well. The format of the new cart gives students quicker access to their iPad and helpful for me to check that all chargers are plugged in ready to charge. The new cart's size has also increased the room size since it is smaller than the one before. All of the Pre-K students rush over to the wall and caddies whenever they notice the new materials, showing immediate engagement with scientific concepts! Even the 6th-grade students cannot get enough of the magnetic ball run and letters, as these tools foster a unique environment for hands-on exploration and collaborative problem-solving. It is inspiring to see older students mentor younger ones as they navigate the physics of a complex marble track together.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my next steps are to expand the materials for the felt wall so that students can film creative stop-motion videos. This addition allows them to merge digital storytelling with physical design, enhancing both their literacy and technical skills simultaneously. I am also working to complete the Lego wall, which provides a dynamic vertical building space that encourages spatial reasoning and helps students build their engineering confidence.\r\n\r\nYour generous contribution transforms our classroom into a vibrant hub of innovation and curiosity every single day. By providing these resources, you are directly supporting the growth of our future scientists, engineers, and creators. We first introduced them during our spring plant unit, filling the tables with soil, seeds, and small gardening tools. Students explored the texture of soil, practiced planting seeds, and even sorted real and pretend plant parts—an experience that brought science concepts to life in a fun and developmentally appropriate way. It was incredible to watch students collaborate, ask questions, and use rich vocabulary while working together at the sensory table. The inclusive nature of the activity allowed all learners, including those with sensory needs, to participate meaningfully.\r\n\r\nWhen the sensory tables were first unveiled, the students were beyond excited. Their faces lit up with curiosity, and they eagerly dove into exploring the new materials. Many students who are typically hesitant during transitions or group activities found comfort and focus at the sensory table, helping to ease their participation in classroom routines. Now, we're shifting into a summer-themed ocean unit, using sand, shells, and sea creature manipulatives in the tables. Students are digging for hidden objects, role-playing ocean animal adventures, and building their own stories around what they discover. The next steps in this project involve incorporating simple science investigations—like comparing textures or learning about ocean habitats—while continuing to support sensory development and cooperative play. Thanks to our generous donors, our classroom has been transformed into a dynamic space where every student can explore, learn, and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1735705446986,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-sensory-adventure-for-kinderg/8549190/","projectTitle":"Creating a Sensory Adventure for Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bianca","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8814362_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693027939983","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8814362"},{"teacherId":9149364,"projectId":9258451,"letterContent":"We used the arcade games and prizes to create a reward-based system tied to academic effort and preparation for our state exam. Students earned tickets by studying, completing practice tests, and demonstrating perseverance. They then used these tickets during our classroom \"Arcade Day\" to play games and win prizes. One memorable moment was watching a student who had been quietly saving tickets for weeks finally reach her goal to \"buy\" a top prize—he had carefully budgeted and resisted the urge to spend early. It turned into a powerful lesson in delayed gratification and financial literacy for the whole class.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the arcade setup and prize table, their eyes lit up with excitement. Some couldn't believe it was all for them. There was a real sense of joy and motivation in the room—students immediately started strategizing how to earn and save tickets. The environment shifted from anxious test prep to one of purpose and anticipation. It made hard work feel rewarding in a tangible way.","fullyFundedDate":1745863127528,"projectUrl":"project/staarcade-level-up-learning/9258451/","projectTitle":"Staarcade - \"Level Up Learning!\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ariza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9149364_orig.jpg?crop=1200,1200,x0,y124&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737664570813","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9149364"},{"teacherId":7627419,"projectId":8966511,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your kindness and generosity in supporting my Ðǿմ«Ã½ project to provide math learning games for my students.
