One of the biggest impacts has been during our morning math block. Now, students can quickly and efficiently sharpen their pencils before instruction begins, which helps us start our lessons on time and fully prepared. What may seem like a small tool has truly made a big difference in keeping our classroom running smoothly.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new sharpener, they were incredibly excited. Many of them immediately commented on how fast and smooth it worked compared to our old one. It brought so much joy to see them excited about something that directly supports their learning. They were equally thrilled to see the new pocket charts. Our previous charts were beginning to tear, so having sturdy new ones made them eager to organize their materials.\r\n\r\nThe sentence strips have also had a powerful impact in our classroom. I have noticed that my students—especially my English language learners—are becoming more confident and brave when initiating sentences in English. During partner discussions and whole-group sharing, more students are raising their hands and participating. These resources are helping create a classroom environment where students feel supported and empowered to take academic risks.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using the sentence strips and pocket charts to support writing activities and structured conversations during our math lessons. We are currently working on explaining our mathematical thinking using complete sentences, and these tools are helping students clearly express their ideas.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous donation and for investing in my students' success. Your support is truly making a difference in our classroom each and every day.","fullyFundedDate":1771513210630,"projectUrl":"project/keeping-our-pencils-and-learning-sharp/10099815/","projectTitle":"Keeping Our Pencils (and Learning) Sharp","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Huerta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9798533"},{"teacherId":9798533,"projectId":9889390,"letterContent":"My students absolutely love their new sharpener! When it first arrived, they immediately noticed it and started raising their hands to ask what it was. As soon as I told them it was a sharpener, they were eager to try it out. Every morning, my students now have the opportunity to sharpen their pencils, and they are always amazed that they simply insert the pencil and it sharpens automatically. It has made our classroom routines smoother and more efficient.\r\n\r\nIn addition, my students have been using the Expo markers to show their math strategies during our daily math warm-ups and rotation time. I have noticed that they are gravitating toward their whiteboards and are proud to demonstrate their thinking. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they share their work with classmates.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue using these materials to strengthen our math discussions and problem-solving skills. Students will be working on explaining their strategies in multiple ways and collaborating with partners to solve real-world word problems.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous donations and for supporting our classroom learning!","fullyFundedDate":1769527983544,"projectUrl":"project/markers-erasers-and-bright-minds-at-w/9889390/","projectTitle":"“Markers, Erasers, and Bright Minds at Work!”","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Huerta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9798533"},{"teacherId":9798533,"projectId":9499265,"letterContent":"When our new classroom mailboxes and chair pockets arrived, my students were so excited! They immediately began exploring them — opening the mailboxes, organizing their supplies, and proudly choosing a spot for their new materials. It felt like a mini celebration in our room. One student even said, \"It feels like we all have our own little space now!\"\r\n\r\nWe started using the new resources right away during our math block. One of my favorite moments was during a place-value activity. Students used the chair pockets to keep their math notebook and textbook organized and within reach. Instead of losing time searching for materials, they were able to grab what they needed quickly and jump right into the lesson. Their classroom mailboxes have also become a helpful place for storing their materials for math stations. \r\n\r\nMy students reacted with so much pride and ownership. They loved having their own designated spaces, and it has truly helped our classroom run more smoothly. Their organization skills have improved, and they feel more responsible for their materials — which has been wonderful to see.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a more organized, efficient, and student-centered classroom! Your support has made such a meaningful difference in how confidently and independently my students learn each day.","fullyFundedDate":1762265299421,"projectUrl":"project/pocket-power-building-independence-thro/9499265/","projectTitle":"Pocket Power: Building Independence Through Organization","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Huerta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9798533"},{"teacherId":9648769,"projectId":8627697,"letterContent":"The resources you helped provide for my classroom have had a huge impact on our learning. Specifically, with math! My kiddos loved using the sheet protectors to practice place value and show me their strategies with word problems. \r\n\r\nThe plastic bags also helped in organizing math and ELA games that helped enhance their understanding of new concepts. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, resources like the laminating sheets helped me by creating durable resources as well as a more hefty Sound Wall.
