As a Title I school serving a low-income community, many of our students come to us with limited access to educational resources. Because of you, we have been able to provide hands-on learning experiences that are truly transforming the way our students learn and grow.\r\n\r\nThe manipulatives you helped provide have become an essential part of our daily instruction. In math, students use tools such as counting cubes, ten frames, and base-ten blocks to build a concrete understanding of numbers, place value, and problem-solving. We have transferred all of these strategies and utilized the anchor charts to do so. These hands-on experiences have allowed our students to move beyond memorization and truly grasp foundational concepts.\r\n\r\nIn reading and language development, manipulatives such as letter tiles and phonics tools have supported our students in building words, recognizing patterns, and developing confidence as readers. For many of our students, especially those who benefit from visual and tactile learning, these tools have made learning more accessible and engaging.\r\n\r\nWe have seen remarkable growth in both academic performance and student confidence. Students who once struggled to participate are now actively engaged, collaborating with peers, and excited to learn. The manipulatives have also allowed us to differentiate instruction, ensuring that all learners—regardless of their starting point—can succeed.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these resources have created a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and capable. For many of our children, school is a place where they gain experiences they may not otherwise have, and your generosity has made that possible.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students' futures and for believing in their potential. Your support is opening doors, building confidence, and inspiring a lifelong love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1767710646947,"projectUrl":"project/soaring-through-first-grade/9574182/","projectTitle":"Soaring Through First Grade!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rojas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10168606"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12330","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":635,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":28,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.0,"schoolId":12330,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mildred Jenkins Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Mildred Jenkins Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/spring-independent-school-district/jenkins-elementary-school/12330"}
