My students have been able to use the materials in hands-on, real-world activities that bring our lessons to life. One of our first major projects with the new equipment was practicing different rehab exercises geared towards knee injuries in pairs. Instead of reading about techniques from a textbook, students were able to perform each step with accuracy and confidence, using the tools professionals rely on. Watching them transition from hesitant beginners to engaged, thoughtful patients and clinicians was truly exciting.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up. Many of them immediately started pointing out equipment they had only heard athletic trainers talk about, saying things like, \"We get to use this?!\" Several students shared that it made them feel like \"real\" sports medicine professionals, and their motivation skyrocketed the moment they held the tools in their hands.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous support, my students now have deeper, more meaningful learning experiences each day. Our next steps include beginning a unit on foot and ankle injury evaluations and intervention techniques, where students will rotate through realistic simulation stations and apply their skills with increasing independence. These new resources make all of this possible, and my students are already more excited and confident about pursuing future careers in health science and sports medicine.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving them the opportunity to learn in such an authentic and empowering way.","fullyFundedDate":1757946162715,"projectUrl":"project/sports-medicine/9474909/","projectTitle":"Sports Medicine","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Parrish","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10082952"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9062","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":672,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":25,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":66,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":9062,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Van Alstyne High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Van Alstyne High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/van-alstyne-independent-school-district/van-alstyne-high-school/9062"}
