I am aware of the abundance of projects on Ðǿմ«Ã½ that are in need of funding. When the games and materials started arriving, I always open them with my students present and explain who had donated them to our classroom. I spoke of each of you and taught the meaning of the word \"anonymous\" that day! When we open a new game like Volcano Pop, we review the rules, items included, skills focused on, and when we might play the game in the classroom. I chose to open Volcano Pop! with the group of 4th and 5th-graders I had in mind when I selected it for this project. First of all, they LOVE games! Second of all, a game that has a volcano they get to \"pop\" a die out of when they land on certain spaces is just the coolest thing since sliced bread in their minds. They chose to play this game over all others and were so engrossed in the math skills and rules that they did not want to transition to their next class. We will absolutely get a lot of math time with this game.\r\n\r\nYou may have been curious why I had a project full of games and then a large box of glue sticks. The glue provided on campus would not stick a tissue to itself, let alone attach graphs to journals. When my students saw the huge box of glue sticks come in, they were ecstatic! \"We can finally keep things glued in our journals!\" IT's the simple things that often excite us in our classroom. :)\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to master goals and take over the world of elementary school! Many of my students will move on to junior high next year, and this is a complete change for them. It is part of my mission to ensure that the last few months of this school year are fun and uplifting for them, both academically and as humans. Thank you again for making this possible!","fullyFundedDate":1769178267538,"projectUrl":"project/fun-learning/10023123/","projectTitle":"Fun Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Eickholt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2515065_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752371279508","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/miss-eickholt"},{"teacherId":9351585,"projectId":9193951,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in funding our classroom project! The games and materials you provided have already made a huge impact on my students. As soon as we unpacked the boxes, their eyes lit up and the room buzzed with excitement. Several students immediately asked, \"Can we play today?\" And of course, we did!\r\n\r\nWe have already been using the new games during small group sessions. For example, while working on language and communication goals, students practiced turn-taking, following directions, and vocabulary development through the interactive board games. One memorable moment happened when a student who is usually hesitant to speak initiated conversation because the game made it feel natural and fun. That moment reminded me why these resources are so important. They open the door to connection, learning, and confidence.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to keep using these materials to support both academic and social growth. In the coming weeks, my students will focus on problem-solving and teamwork, and these games will be a perfect tool to reinforce those skills in an engaging way. I know that because of your gift, my students will continue to grow not only in their communication abilities but also in their confidence and joy for learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students opportunities that reach far beyond the classroom walls. Your kindness has truly made a difference.","fullyFundedDate":1742922654915,"projectUrl":"project/create-speech-smiles-for-underprivileged/9193951/","projectTitle":"Create Speech Smiles for Underprivileged Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Crouch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9351585"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12763","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":353,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":47,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":12763,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mountainview Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Mountainview Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/waco-independent-school-district/mountainview-elementary-school/12763"}
