They gathered around the boxes asking, \"What is this?\" and jumped right in to help unpack, organize supplies, and set up the cart. One student enthusiastically said, \"This is the best job ever!\" and that energy has carried through each week.\r\n\r\nWe've now completed two Coffee Cart Fridays, and the students are already growing more independent and confident. They've been practicing greeting customers, taking orders, preparing drinks, and delivering them to staff. During our second week, several students were able to remember their roles without prompting, and another student, who normally prefers to stay in the background, volunteered to be the cashier for the first time. Watching them build these skills in a real-world setting has been incredibly meaningful.\r\n\r\nAs we head into our third week, the students are working on improving efficiency, organizing supplies more independently, and adding new items to our visual menu. We're also beginning to talk about how to reinvest the cart's profits and how we can use part of our earnings to give back to our school community.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this project possible. Your support allowed us to create an inclusive, hands-on learning experience that builds confidence, communication, and life skills every Friday. Our classroom feels more empowered and connected because of you.","fullyFundedDate":1757682529786,"projectUrl":"project/coffee-cart-for-independent-skills/9460662/","projectTitle":"Coffee Cart for Independent Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Snyder","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8917976_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752497938262","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8917976"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134245","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":134245,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Calfee Middle School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Calfee Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/willis-independent-school-district/calfee-middle-school/134245"}
