This project worked well with the 5th grade introduction to careers day. We had to do brainstorming around who they would like to interview and what their jobs at school may entail. They learned about the interviewing process and how to ask open ended questions to get the interviewed person to give details. Each student had to come up with at least four questions to ask their chosen person to interview. They had fun using new technologies (we imported their recorded voices into Canva to create the podcasts). They gained confidence with using their voices both by hearing themselves in the recordings and by asking powerful questions to gain information. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to try something new. It worked well.","fullyFundedDate":1764715310389,"projectUrl":"project/hear-our-stories-past-and-present/9887539/","projectTitle":"Hear Our Stories-past and Present","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Daly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3084363_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1526997088877","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/shaftslib"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_35125","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":255,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.7,"schoolId":35125,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shaftsbury Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Shaftsbury Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/vermont/southwest-vermont-su-5/shaftsbury-elementary-school/35125"}
