As we read, students are building stronger comprehension skills, expanding their vocabulary, analyzing character development, and making meaningful connections between literature and history.\r\n\r\nBut most importantly, they are sharing a precious period of class time engrossed, together, in a story; this is something that feels past-time yet shouldn't be!\r\n\r\nMany of my students had never held a new novel before.
