In those moments, it's our responsibility as adults to stay grounded.\r\n\r\nWe have to remain mindful, patient, and compassionate, remembering that behavior is a form of communication. Children are telling us something, even when the message comes out loud, messy, or overwhelming.\r\n\r\nWith the tools I've been able to learn and practice, I continue working on my own mindfulness and anxiety. As I grow in these skills, I'm able to pass them along to my students—helping them learn healthy ways to regulate emotions, express themselves, and feel safe.\r\n\r\nThis work isn't always easy, but it is meaningful, powerful, and deeply human. The office as well as the Health room can be a scary or intimidating place for our students. Having snacks and essential items to help them quickly is so helpful to both the students and staff. Sometimes students have to spend an extended amount of time in the Health room waiting for their grown up to pick them up. Having the fidget toys has been simple amazing! We have had more than one parent say \"what a great idea!\"\r\nHaving the the Nice and Clean Wipes for glasses and the Tide to go Wipes for small spills have been life savers. When ever possible, our ultimate goal is to get the students back to class to do the most important work we do here, learning. \r\nThank you for all of the donations! There are so many new books published every year, that it is hard to keep up with everything and read the reviews on them.
