We spend every morning in a circle where we have built a sense of family and acceptance within our group. We share how we are feeling and why, things that make us sad or happy, celebrations and beliefs we have in each other. \r\n The impact of this gift was evident the other day when we were short on time and I didn't put in our \"feeling\" slide. This caused a major uproar from my students. I love hearing about their feelings but didn't realize how much they love sharing and hearing from each other until this day. I get questioned all day if for some reason we don't do morning meeting until we do it. Checking in with my kids allows me insight into their hearts and minds and lets me know who I might need to check in with or who to celebrate with. \r\n Our time together and all the team building activities has allowed my students to feel safe in their school environment, be willing to take risks without fear of failure and create an understanding that mistakes are ok to make and without them, we aren't learning. Time spent learning and sharing with each other has created our classroom family and I am proud of them on a daily basis. \r\n I thank you so very much for giving us the gift and tools to help us understand feelings, to accept that all feelings are ok, and the tools we need to process and move forward. Making it right with others when we have misunderstood, or made mistakes. These kids are 6 and 7 yet so wise beyond their years. \r\nWith a very grateful heart~ WE thank you!","fullyFundedDate":1718678040585,"projectUrl":"project/a-better-world-a-better-me/8456909/","projectTitle":"A Better World A Better Me!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. STEWARD","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9570022"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55396","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":318,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":33,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":29,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":55396,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Carriage Crest Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Carriage Crest Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/kent-school-district-415/carriage-crest-elementary-school/55396"}
