Because of your donation, my ELA classes were able to access an engaging story about a middle schooler growing up with ADHD. Students each had a copy of their own book and were able to read, make meaning, and go deeper with their understanding of the themes of the story. The story also provides many relatable experiences from the author's life that students connected to and appreciated. Rich discussion and connection happened in book clubs as students discussed and shared. Because of the access to this story through the copies you donated, many students have shared how they feel encouraged and supported by the themes they discovered when reading. \r\n\r\nBecause of your generous donation of Button Pusher, which is a graphic novel, students who are reading below grade level were able to read and comprehend a text that allowed them to participate in in-depth conversations about knowing and appreciating yourself.\r\n\r\nAccess to relevant and engaging books is incredibly important in promoting literacy and developing a culture of reading.
